Frequently Asked Questions

Why Is Cardiac Rehab Important?

Cardiac rehabilitation is a cornerstone of recovery and long-term heart health. It improves cardiovascular fitness, reduces symptoms, lowers the risk of future cardiac events, and supports mental and emotional wellbeing. It is a vital step in regaining confidence and control after a heart diagnosis.

Why Is Preventative Care Important?

Preventative care helps identify and manage risk factors before they lead to serious cardiac events. Through guided exercise and lifestyle interventions, it supports heart health, improves resilience, and empowers people to take proactive steps toward lifelong wellness and disease prevention.

Is Cardiac Rehab covered by Medicare or Private Health Insurance?

Your private health insurance may cover the program. Additionally, you may be eligible for a GP management plan (item 721- Exercise Physiology sessions – item 10953 Or Medicare Benefits Schedule item 81115 if you have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes), which can help cover some, or all, of the program’s costs. This plan is arranged through your GP. If you would like this option, speak to your GP prior to your appointment with us. If you already have one in place- that’s great, please bring it along to your initial assessment.
